Getting Audio From Laptop to Receiver

I have a question for you. I have a Sony Vaio Laptop and I am inquiring about connecting an Audio cord to my Yamaha Receiver (RX-V471BL AV RECEIVER W/USB), for streaming Netflix. How do I do this? I Connected a HDMI cord from the laptop to the receiver, but it only gives me a picture, no audio.

you need to go into audio device options and choose the hdmi as the default ,i think ,go to start ,control panel and open Sound icon ,you will need to set the laptop speacker back when finished with the hdmi

Yep, that was it. Thank you so much. I had been listening to Pandora/Grooveshark via RCA/single headphone male and R/L RCA to AUX into the receiver. Wow, So much better via HDMI. I am really diggin DaniWeb. Thanks Again!
